The primary purpose of this position is responsible to assist the Store Service Supervisor in one or more territories with managing an internal technical staff consisting of five to seven Refrigeration Service Technicians. In addition, the position requires the Associate to maintain five to eight assigned stores at the discretion of management. Position requires travel from site-to-site to service and repair refrigeration, HVAC, and other miscellaneous equipment in retail supermarkets. Most work is performed without direct supervision or assistance. Assists in the oversight and coordination of maintenance projects with internal technicians and external vendors.
This position is designed to transition an existing Refrigeration Service Technician into a Store Service Supervisor position in two to four years. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with company policies and state and federal laws.
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
This associate does not have any supervisory responsibilities in this role. However, will direct the activities of at least three (3) technicians with supervisor oversight and trainees when applicable.
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The associate is:
High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of five (5) years of proven commercial refrigeration/HVAC systems experience and satisfactory overall performance.
Knowledge of MSDS and OSHA; EPA certified (Type I and II) in proper refrigeration practices is required. Post-secondary technician training in job-related disciple is highly desired.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
