Overview

The Financial Analyst for Treasury and Tax is responsible for the accounting for cash management and the tax provision as well as sales tax returns for Weis Markets.  This position will report to the Director of Tax, Accounts Receivable, Real Estate Accounting and Treasury.

  • Prepare accounting related entries and upload journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Research and answer questions concerning the monthly P&L statement.
  • Follow our company’s established accounting processes and recommend efficiencies where necessary.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and ensure supporting documentation is available and accurate.
  • Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
  • Compile and create monthly reports for senior management.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external auditors.
  • Partner with internal associates (IT and business owners) on system implementations and enhancements.  Participate in testing and validation to ensure financial statement accuracy.
  • Manage daily cash transactions and work with CFO to forecast daily cash requirements.
  • Ensure store bank deposits are reconciled and deposit adjustments are recorded and communicated to Store Operations timely.
  • Prepare Sales Tax Returns for Director of Tax, Real Estate and Treasury.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation and support for the Federal and State Income Tax returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation and support for tax audits.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CPA Candidate preferred
  • 2+ years of experience working in the Accounting profession
