Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure financial statement are accurate and in accordance with GAAP by reconciling accounts and recording prepared journal entries.  Must be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner to answer questions from both internal and external associates.  Complete special projects assigned by management. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The associate is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  1. Prepare accounting related entries and upload journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
  2. Research and answer questions concerning the monthly P&L statement.
  3. Follow our company’s established accounting processes and recommend efficiencies where necessary.
  4. Prepare monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and ensure supporting documentation is available and accurate.
  5. Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
  6. Compile and create monthly reports for senior management.
  7. Prepare documentation for internal and external auditors.
  8. Partner with internal associates (IT and business owners) on system implementations and enhancements.  Participate in testing and validation to ensure financial statement accuracy.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or Business, previous accounting experience preferred, but not required.
