Actively greet, engage and thank customers during check out process to increase customer satisfaction. Maintains knowledge of store layout to answer customer questions.
Operates scanning equipment and register, performs all related check out procedures in an efficient manner.
Ensures proper bagging of customers merchandise efficiently and placing merchandise in customer’s cart.
Responsible for all funds including cash, checks, debit/credit slips and coupons. Maintains proper security measures and cash drawer accounting procedures, avoiding excessive overages and/or shortages.
Maintains knowledge of weekly ads, advertised and in-store specials, and special promotions in order to answer customer questions, generate sales by suggestive selling and to assure accuracy in ringing up merchandise.
Follows company and legal regulations concerning tobacco and alcohol sales.
Utilizes “down time” to improve cleanliness and organization of beer department and aisles.
Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors. Responsible to continuously improve job performance
Performs other duties as directed by superiors.
Must be 21 years of age or older
Education and Experience
Current students, High school diploma or equivalent desirable
RAMP Certification Preferred. Can be provided through employer.
Knowledge and Skills
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to understand simple math.
Experience dealing with customers helpful.
Ability to multi-task.
Physical Requirements
Hearing (listening)
Lifting up to 35 lbs
Reaching & grasping in a confined area
Operating front-end equipment
Frequent communication (especially verbal)
Sight and peripheral vision (full awareness of surroundings)
Standing for extended periods
