The primary purpose of this position is to administer all in-store and pharmacy training initiatives and allow management associates to be well trained and more effective within their roles. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with Store Support Center policies and state and federal laws.
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
1. Conduct face-to-face training to all new and existing pharmacy associates.
2. Coordinate calls to teach systems and operational training to management associates.
3. Responsible to complete daily and quarterly compliance audits to ensure pharmacy programs are being adhered to. (i.e. Pharmacy tour sheets and Controlled substance audits)
4. Teach classroom setting customer service and Enterprise Pharmacy System (EPS) training for all pharmacy associates.
5. Provide mentorship assignments and monitoring.
6. Develop training initiatives needed within the district.
7. Review pharmacy technician competencies within technician competency guide and to ensure we are in compliance.
8. Report weekly activities to supervisor.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus four (4) years of experience in Retail Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred but not required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
The following qualities are required:
Minimum age of 18 years old due to business travel.

Ability to work weekends on an occasional basis.
Ability to work day or evening hours.

Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.
Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines.
Typing speed of 40 WPM.
Knowledge of systems and operational workings of Weis Markets Inc. pharmacy system.
Ability to track attendance and compliance.
Proficiency with the Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and Outlook.
