Overview

1. Manages inventories by tracking weekly sales reports, orders merchandise and supplies to meet customer demands and maximize profits.

2. Provides a positive work environment for department associates. In conjunction with Pharmacy Supervisor hires and schedules associates, rewards and recognizes performance, disciplines as appropriate, and delegates work activities effectively to utilize skills and abilities to meet company profit goals.

3. Prepares, maintains and tracks department records concerning inventories to calculate gross monthly profit according to established company guidelines.

4. Responsible for all cash accountability in the pharmacy and accurate bookkeeping.

5. Oversees and participates in ongoing training and development of personnel in an effort to improve performance, ensure continuous development, reduce turnover and control labor costs.

6. Controls pharmacy expenses by constantly monitoring and improving the operations of the department such as payroll levels and losses due to shrink.

7. Responds to customer complaints and questions in an efficient, courteous manner and provides effective counseling on prescription related issues to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.

8. Focuses on continuously improving all areas of the department in order to provide excellent service and maximize profits.

9. Maintains a safe and clean department to meet company standards, health department regulations and OSHA requirements.

10. Maintains accurate department records on all important matters, including associate performance and discipline, sales plans, etc.

11. Develops and implements localized merchandising plans individually or in cooperation with superiors to meet sales and profit goals.

12. Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors. Responsible to continuously improve job performance.

13. Performs duties of staff as required.
