Job Description:
The Manager of Architecture is responsible for the daily management of the Architectural Department, as well as \outside consultants. They will develop resources, assign projects and be accountable for project schedules. The Manager of Architecture is instrumental in project programming and design for new stores, retail centers, and gas stations; as well as expansions and/or remodel activities for stores and corporate support facilities (i.e., office, distribution, and manufacturing facilities).
The Manager will fill a key role in coordinating pre-construction daily activities of the Store Development, Real Estate, Legal Departments. They will act as the coordination point for outside engineers and consultants as it relates to performing due diligence, design development, and construction drawings of new stores, expansion projects, remodels, and fuel stations. They will have a thorough understanding of local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and their processes as related to the building permit reviews and approvals. They will communicate the interests of Weis Markets, Inc. to government agency officials and conduct negotiations on behalf of Weis Markets, Inc.
