Overview

The primary purpose of the Maintenance in the Ice Cream Plant is to plan, organize and monitor plant maintenance activities and maintenance staff in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, parts and tools required for production.  Plan and initiate all purchasing of machines through Capital Expenditure for all facility/equipment evaluation and replacement as needed.  Responsible to review work orders to determine work priorities.  Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.  This includes but is not limited to preventative, predictive and repair maintenance work as well as long range planning required to maintain and provide for growth of the plant. 

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  1. Demonstrate and provide operations/maintenance technical refrigeration personnel and equipment related to power generation equipment and high-tension distribution systems.
  2. Direct/plan preventive and routine maintenance report tasks related to boiler and electrical distribution equipment.  
  3. Detailed understanding of ice cream production and its associated equipment.
  4. The quality of the products we produce is paramount, all associates in their related tasks are responsible for maintaining the commitment to Food Safety and Food Quality.

Job Qualifications

The following skill sets are a plus:

  1. Electrical skills
  2. PLC training and/or experience
  3. Refrigeration skills  
  4. Pneumatic and hydraulic system skills
  5. Plumbing
  6. Welding, machining and fabricating skill

7.          Boiler operation and steam distribution system knowledge
