Job Description:
The Fixture Buyer coordinates shelving and fixture purchasing activities including, but not limited to:
Daily store fixture needs fixture warehouse
New Store Construction
Store Remodels
Merchandising resets
Perform duties to support the goals and objectives of the Weis Markets
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sourcing of fixtures through request of quotation, bids and direct negotiation
Periodically review pricing with vendors and suppliers to achieve the lowest cost.
Review building plans of new stores, remodels and expansion projects to determine equipment requirements. Provide fixture dispositions for each project.
Review proper pricing of all purchase transactions and resolve related invoice discrepancies.
Maintain current knowledge of market conditions to assist department in price negotiations.
Maintain inventory levels of various products to support new store and remodel projects.
Participate in any departmental or interdepartmental committees that have a direct relationship or impact on the purchasing activities of the department.
Utilize available on-line purchasing and tracking methods.
Prepare initial budgets and continuously monitor equipment purchases during all phases of construction to ensure project cost are maintained within the specified amounts.
Track and coordinate all deliveries with Project Manager, Center Store Merchandising team, Regional Directors, District Managers and Store Managers.
Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
Education and/or Experience
Mechanical aptitude to understand assembly of shelving installations and fixture parts.
College degree in Business Management or another related field is preferred.
Minimum three years’ experience with shelving and fixtures.
Computer proficiency in general business software is required, including a working knowledge of Excel and Word documents.
