Overview

REPORTS TO:  Regional Asset Protection Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The role of the District Asset Protection Manager is to lead Weis Markets in their Shrink Reduction, Asset Protection and Safety efforts through an in-depth understanding of the overall business, effective partnerships and by directing the organization with integrity and professionalism.  The DAPM will uses analytics and financial acumen to identify and resolve shrink and safety opportunities while improving operations and driving profitability.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
2-4 Retail Crime Investigators

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide support and guidance to stores and recommend strategies to reduce loss and increase profitability.
  • Proactively identify district safety and shrink opportunities and create/implement plans for improvement.
  • Use exception based reporting systems to identify dishonesty, profit erosion and shrink opportunities.
  • Conduct dishonest associate related investigations and interviews.
  • Manage Retail Crime Investigators and drive external investigations.
  • Act as a liaison between Weis Markets and local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Professionally represent Weis Markets in court hearings and mediations.
  • Actively provide guidance and support to stores regarding emergency situations and critical incidents.
  • Review Store Operational Audit results and initiate improvement strategies. 
  • Enforce policies and procedures in a professional and impactful manner through consistent accountability practices.
  • Collaborate with business partners to drive results and achieve company goals.
  • Foster a culture of profitable selling through training, development and leadership.
  • Ensure an accurate physical inventory process, evaluate store results and initiate appropriate actions to reduce shrink.
  • Manage Federal and State regulatory standards and direct stores on corrective actions to be taken.
  • Ensure all Asset Protection technology is operational and physical security guidelines are being executed in order to reduce and prevent inventory shrink.
  • Effectively manage time and scheduling to best suit the company’s needs.
  • Execute the company safety program in partnership with corporate leadership.
  • Responsible for key P&L categories relating to Asset Protection and expense control.
  • Reduce cash shortage and conduct investigations as needed.
  • Orchestrate key public safety functions and physical security standards for all new store openings, remodels and special events.

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 5 years multi-store Asset Protection supervisory experience.
  • Analytical ability to interpret statistical data.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Effective organizational, communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to direct and handle multiple tasks, prioritize and act with a sense of urgency.
  • Must have core computer competencies including an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills and abilities.
  • Ability to work on sensitive assignments and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Wicklander / Zulawski certification.
  • Available to handle emergency situations 24/7.
