The primary purpose of this position is to manage daily department activities of a centralized distribution center. Monitors inventory levels to manage expenses, minimize loss, and maximize revenue. Ensures that goods are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities. Ensures proper coordination of daily operations through monitoring performance measures and communication with department managment and associates. Frequent independent judgments are essential. Position is Primarily 2nd shift but hours may vary. Will be trained to work in both the Fresh and Grocery portion of the warehouse.
Must be willing to relocate.
Must be 18 or older.
1. Complies with OSHA, Safety and DOT regulations under federal, state, and local warehousing laws for shipping and andling requirements.
2. Ensure a safe Work Environment that is consistent with company safety and health standards.
3. Maintain Compliance with recieving, warehousing, and distribution policies and procedures.
4. Proactively Monitor and manage inbound/outbound shipments of products to our store.
5. Monitor and scheduled tasks to insure they are efficiently completed.
6. Achieves financial objectives by analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
7. Provide training to maintain warehouse associate job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining associates.
8. Safeguards warehouse operations and contents through established security procedures and protocols.
9. Research and develop new techniques and procedures to increase efficiency and safety in operations.
10. Facilitate communication within and amongst management, departments, stores, store support center, and supply chain.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directly supervises selectors, loaders, fork lift operators, inventory control, maintenance, associates, and supervisors and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Weis Markets policies and applicable laws. The incumbent determines work order based upon demand and the need of product. Resposibilities include training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associate, appraising associate performance, and resolving complaints.
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Ability to lead and develop talent; prepare them for potential advancement. Ability to effectively partner with internal DC departments and be flexible to changing business needs and react to those needs in a professional positive manner. Strong organizational, time management and communication skills required.
Ability to work with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Education and or Experience:
Bachelors of Science in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration; or five (5) Years' prior experience as a Manager in a warehouse environment.

Push and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds a distance of ten (10) feet.
Rarely required to do the following activities:
Stand dynamically for long periods without a break.
Stand statically for long periods without a break.
Push and/or pull up to seventy-five (75) pounds a distance of five (5) feet.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include:
Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
