Overview

The primary purpose for this position is to proctor recruiting and onboarding activities for the Weis Markets Store Support Center.  The associate will develop recruiting plans and interview techniques to hire quality candidates for salaried and hourly positions at the Store Support Center.  The incumbent will conduct pre-employment screenings such as drug screens and background checks and engage in onboarding and training plans for new associates. The associate will be responsible for recruiting candidates for all fields including: information technology, human resources, merchandising, real estate, accounting, and Marketing.   

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  1. Develop and execute recruiting plans to ensure open positions are filled to maintain efficiency and effectiveness of organizational operations.
  2. Partner with the Store Support Center Human Resources Manager to define recruitment needs and plan hiring processes.
  3. Manage all communications with potential candidates when they apply for positions and schedule interviews via in person, video and phone. 
  4. Post open positions in Monster, Indeed, and other internet sources to develop candidate pools.
  5. Attend career fairs to develop relationships with third-party organizations and attract potential candidates.  
  6. Conduct pre employment screenings, facilitate paperwork and onboarding processes for new associates.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business or Human Resource related field desirable.

Minimum 4 years’ experience in management in a retail/restaurant/supermarket environment preferred.
