Associates ensure the transport of grocery store items to and from the Weis Market's Distribution Center. Associate would be responsible to hook up to assigned trailer, and perform a safety inspection, prior to leaving the Distribution Center. Travel time from the warehouse to store location could be up to 4 hrs. Upon arrival, associate would open the trailer door and be available to assist with the unloading of product from their trailer. Associate would assist with the reloading of trailer with empty pallets, totes, trays, or directed to another location to pick up pallets of merchandise for return to the distribution center. Will use an onboard electronic computer system for logging and navigation.

Job Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Weis Markets DC delivers to various Weis Markets and retail locations in seven states including: Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, New York, Delaware and New Jersey.

Plans efficient routes to optimize, time, fuel and mileage.

Performs pre-operation inspections before departure and complete associated documentation.

Secure freight prior to the departure and monitor its safe distribution throughout the trip.

Maintain trailer cleanliness standards.

Adhere to all federal Department of Transportation (DOT), state, local, and Weis Markets Rules and Registrations.

Ability to work weekends and extended days on an occasional basis.

Ability to work day or evening hours.

Qualification Requirements:

Minimum age of 21 years.

Ability to pass a DOT Drug Screen and DOT Physical.

Qualified candidate must have a class A CDL with one year of experience or 50,000 miles of driving experience.

Must be available for a second shift schedule and weekend/holiday work.
