The Business Systems Analyst serves as the technology business partner to implement complex and innovative process improvements and technologies which promote overall organizational efficiency, effectiveness and cost optimization. This position will work with all levels of the business including business partners, technology and external vendors, focusing on business process documentation, business requirements and solutions to meet business needs.
The Business Systems Analyst will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible with implementing enterprise business applications by advising of best practices, process improvements and implementation to system enhancements that advance the goals of the business. The Analyst will gather, analyze and document functional and technical requirements for new projects and major enhancements to existing solutions and support business partners with resolution to problematic functional processes.
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
To provide business systems analysis for transformational enterprise projects, capability enhancements, and unparalleled partnership.
Lead a business requirements gathering process that accurately reflects business needs which includes: risk analysis, “as is” and “to be” process documentation, independent of a specific technical solution.
Develop and document specifications with stakeholders to assure clarity and consensus on the business requirements.
Review technical solutions for compliance to business process and project objectives.
Collaborate with IT and business colleagues to create business requirements documents, end user acceptance criteria, solution designs, training material, data mining techniques, business analysis strategies and test plans.
Maintain continued accuracy of living documentation; adhering to policies needed for prevention of documentation staling.
Demonstrate understanding of the impact of problems on the organization as a whole, and facilitates collaboration to achieve resolutions.
Develop methodologies and strategies that use a broad array of communication tools to inform, persuade, influence, direct and facilitate analysis and communication within project teams and between business and technical users.
Anticipates stakeholder needs, investigates the underlying causes and identifies short- and long-term solutions.
Anticipates stakeholder business issues and/or developments (i.e. regulatory or compliance); uses knowledge to focus project work and drive necessary improvements.
Model and analyze business processes and assist the business in identifying ways to maximize operational efficiencies, quality and compliance.
Coaches and advocates for business area regarding system needs and requests with various groups.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Information Systems or an Interrelated field or ten (10) years' related work experience as Business Systems Analyst, Project Manager or relevant area.
