Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to provide information to associate of eligibility, verify validity of claim forms, research benefit issues and maintain and record benefit records.  The associate will be required to take complex benefit descriptions and convey information to associates in an easy to understand manner.  The incumbent will create and maintain hierarchy-based benefits packages across the organization.  The associate will serve primarily as a health and welfare expert but will also function as a back up for retirement and leave of absence duties. 

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  1. Respond to frequently asked health and welfare questions and inquiries, assign priorities to calls, emails, based on timeliness of needed response, or escalate major legal issues to management for assistance.
  2. Make calls, draft letters, and distribute information in response to Benefit Change Form requests.
  3. Enter and update benefit information changes in PeopleSoft, vendor databases, and spreadsheets.
  4. Compile, copy, sort, file, scan, and fax documents.
  5. Research and resolve associates’ benefit questions by investigating eligibility and dependent coverage; interact with all levels within the organization and with its vendors.
  6. Send vendor files weekly, biweekly and monthly for enrollment and census data.
  7. Load inbound files into PeopleSoft from vendors.
  8. Assist with department projects as assigned.
  9. Prepare and track various weekly and monthly reports.
  10. Prepare information for accounting in order to pay invoices for certain benefits with approval.
  11. Send monthly files to OC Tanner and distribute awards packets.
  12. Upload benefit refunds for payroll checks.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus two (2) years of administrative, customer service, or call center experience in an office environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
