Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Keeps bakery department well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand. Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about various products and preparation of cakes. Helps resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner. Mixes, shapes, proofs and bakes breads, rolls, sweet goods and cakes. Also makes up various items for the refrigerated and freezer cases.
  • Fills donuts and places into frying oil. Flips donuts with sticks, removes donuts from oil and places onto racks for cooling.
  • Decorates cakes and other bakery products using basic designs. Trims and cuts cakes to required specifications using dye or specific designs or may create custom designs. Spreads icing on cakes surface and between layers.
  • Takes customer orders over the phone or in person at the store with a pleasant and positive attitude. Determines what the customer is looking for in terms of size, flavor and appearance. Creates the finished decorated product in timely fashion.
  • Assists in filling, wrapping, pricing, stocking, and merchandising the bakery sales area while adhering to production logs. Pulls out of code products from shelves and reduces to predetermined retail for quick sale. Rotates items to ensure freshness.
  • May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries through operation of power jack or hand jack if properly trained. Training provided.
  • May assist with baling cardboard or other related duties if properly trained. Training provided.
  • Responsible for general sanitation in the department. Follows cleaning schedules and department guidelines to ensure that work areas, equipment, counters, display cases, etc. are well-maintained, clean and meet all health and OSHA requirements. Disposes of trash properly.
  • Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Responsible to continuously improve job performance.
  • Responsible for utilization of all company provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE). Including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety cutters, company sponsored footwear, etc.
  • May also be called upon to assist in other departments.

Hourly Pay Rate Range: $15.50-$22.00 per hour

Shifts for this position start at 5 am

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
