The primary purpose of this position is to analyze all data sources to form a single source of information for more efficient reporting, better decision making, and total control over our asset performance in accordance with standards set within the department.  Must be able to partner with various departments in the organization to facilitate change and prevent ongoing and recurring loss.  Provide support to field operations by providing detailed analysis and thorough investigations as assigned.  Assist in the implementation and upgrading of Asset Protection systems and provide training to the field team on Asset Protection systems as assigned.

  • Review and analyze potential theft indicators in data, as well operational issues that cause loss.
  • Develop, build and implement new reports in the Data Warehouse to meet the needs of the AP field team, other departments and management.
  • Promptly identify exception-based issues and partner with key stakeholders to implement required change.
  • Perform system administrator functions for the case/audit management system, including such duties such as: upgrades, data feeds, report creation, publications and make modifications as assigned. Maintain and oversee user access to case management system.
  • Act as a resource to asset protection field team by reviewing information and/or requests received from the field team, and by running ad hoc analysis in the Data Warehouse, Retalix or CGO. 
  • Collaborate with multiple departments regarding loss, investigations, research and analysis.
  • Design and develop queries, scorecards, and KPIs for exception reporting.
  • Partner with the Business Intelligence team to resolve issues with reports, create new business views for other datasets and create advanced reporting for leadership.
  • Create and manage delivery of weekly/monthly reporting and document provision to the field team and leadership, both via manual distribution and automatic distribution in the Data Warehouse.
  • Assist with creating purchase orders for dept. expenses and authorizing and delivering invoices to Accounting for payment.
  • Support users that are having issues with Asset Protection systems.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining a Risk Management Information System (RMIS), which would join claim data from multiple systems.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations to support data analysis.

Job Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in Accounting/Finance analytics or equivalent analytical area.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting/Finance or equivalent in related field.
  • Prior experience in store operations, asset protection, front-end or store management preferred.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, regression, and statistical inference.
  • Ability to understand instructions in a variety of media and able to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in areas of limited standardization.
  • Ability to join disparate data sets to create new analysis
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information and provide quality customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Possesses strong sense of urgency, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively to meet time frames and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access.
